Bhastrika (Bellows Breath): breath is forcefully inhaled and then exhaled through nostrils at a rate of about 20–30 respirations/minute while using strong abdominal muscle contractions. Nadi Shodana (Alternate Nostril Breathing): relaxed breathing pattern with inhalation and exhalation done through just one nostril at a time. Breathing occurs at a normal rate of 12 respirations/minute. Brahmari (Bumblebee Breath): Slow breathing is done while eyes and ears are covered via specific placement of hands over face and external ear flaps. There is long slow inhalation and then a gentle humming sound is made with exhalation. Breathing occurs at a rate of about 6 respirations/minute.
