I always remember this remark from one of my colleagues about the pleasure of reading. "In my mind's eyes, books have their own lives. How many ups and downs of my life as well as the breaths years through the old pages are contained in the volumes that you can hardly discover in new publications, neither can you buy them by money! They are indeed priceless!" 2. This is one of the reasons that draw people to secondhand bookstores. There, thick books with brown paper, dog-eared pages and threadbare backs contain untold suggestive things that conjure up exotic emotions to book lovers. Sometimes one finds on them inscriptions like "Sai Gon – a rainy afternoon, 1986"; “(Date) To T as a souvenir of a youth". The tiny memories of unknown people suddenly make readers' heart fret and perplexed as if their own ones came up. It is said that book lovers can easily find their bosom friends.
