Every year, more than 24 million tons of discarded cotton textiles in textile industry are regarded as garbage burial or incineration. If the discarded cotton fibers can be converted into nano-silver/carbon materials with high added value and applied to smart textiles, there is great development potential. In this study, silver/carbon composite nanowires and waterborne PU are mixed to make a scalable conductive coating. The conductivity of hydrothermal carbon and the dispersion of functional groups on the surface of hydrothermal carbon are improved by silver nanowires, and the influence of the properties of silver/carbon composite nanowires on the electrothermal properties of the coating is discussed. It is expected to develop a safe and comfortable electrothermal textile.
