As to discuss what I can bring to this program, I believe it is wide contacts with different ages of students. My father takes the career of teaching, either, so I can analyze the comparisons and advances between his teaching skills and nowadays innovative teaching methods. There are a lot of narrow limitations on my father’s traditional teaching-oriented style, but there are some desirable theories useful even in today’s teachings, for instance, the homework. Based on my father’s long time teaching experiences, and modern guiding-oriented teaching I learnt in the university, along with my real working in a primary school of JinHua City, I began to explore and develop an individual teaching style particular to primary students, that is temper justice with mercy, integration of teaching and parents’ monitoring.
However, cultures are different in Hong Kong and the mainland, neither do students. For instance, the environmental protection sense among primary students is very weak, and such kinds of activities held by community or schools are few, either. So I wish I can make up my lacks by studying from local students and present my understanding on teaching to them, and thus to generate an integration and implementation of international teaching methods on science subjects.
