Descriptive statistics were used to summarize demographic and clinicopathologic characteristics of the 116 patients who received thyroid surgery and completed both surveys. Mean preoperative and postoperative scores were calcu-lated for each of the eleven SWAL-QOL domains. The statistical significance of the difference between preoper-ative and postoperative scores for each domain was tested with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test.
