As with all switching regulators, careful attention mustbe paid to the PCB layout and component placement. Tomaximize effi ciency, switch rise and fall times are madeas short as possible. To prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI) problems, proper layout of the high frequencyswitching path is essential. The voltage signal of the SWand BOOST pins have sharp rise and fall edges. Minimizethe area of all traces connected to the BOOST and SWpins and always use a ground plane under the switchingregulator to minimize interplane coupling. In addition, theground connection for frequency setting resistor RT andcapacitors at VC1, VC2 pins (refer to the Block Diagram)should be tied directly to the GND pin and not sharedwith the power ground path, ensuring a clean, noise-freeconnection.
