To compare all the possible permutations of semantic profiles becomes exceedingly tedious. Fig 8 ‘maps’ each carriage type in relation to the semantic dimensions used to describe it. This map was developed using D-scores (Osgood, Suci and Tanncnbaum, 1967) which can be used for making three dimensional models. However, the researchers found that the simplicity of presentation more
than compensated for the slight loss in accuracy entailed in using two dimensions. The dimensions relevant to all five carriages are positioned around the map. Not all pairs of private, and also that newer carriages are seen as brighter and more modern than their older counterparts.
