Interviews began by asking respondents general questions about their background, experience with social media in general, and how their usage had evolved over time, to initiate a conversation (McCracken, 1988). Then, the interviews moved to the topic of personal experience with Instagram as a platform and the extent to which the respondents followed luxury content. Questions included why they in-itially joined Instagram, how they began following luxury content, and why they believed this type of content was relevant for them.
