Good afternoon,ladies and gentlemen! It's my honor to stand here to make a speech. Today my topic is: Our City-Quanzhou.
Quanzhou is a beautiful city with a long history. It has a population of more than 8 million people. Quanzhou is located in the southeast of Fujian Province by the sea. Its city flower is erythrina. I love it deeply.
There are lots of places of interests in Quanzhou: Qingyuan Mountain, Kaiyuan Temple, Luoyang Bridge, East and West Pagada, and so on. Among them, my favorite is the Qingyuan Mountain. Stone Statue of Lao Tze is located at the foot of west peak of Qingyuan Hill, Fengze District, Quanzhou city. The Statue was sitting on the ground, 5.63 meters high, 8.01 meters wide and 6.85 meters thick, covering an area of 55 square meters.The Lao Tze sat on the ground, dressed in a priest frock. The left foot stood up a bit, while the right foot bending in front of his body.The left hand rested on the knee and right hand touched the desk, index finger and the little finger flipped the desk. The Statue Vividly reflected the great spirit and amiable manner. The Statue of Lao Tze on the Qingyuan Mountain. The symbol of health and longevity.
Quanzhou is the starting point of Maritime Silk Road, in the Song and Yuan period, it is important part in our country and has friendly communication around the world.
In a word, Quanzhou is stable and peaceful,it is an ancient and modern city. As children of Quanzhou, we are proud of it!
