Electronic automatic shift (EAS) incorporates an automated clutch system. A pneumatic clutch actuator, a hydraulic dual master cylinder and software control in the transmission control unit operate the standard clutch. There is no change to the basic gearbox or clutch compared with the standard manual transmission. * Two drive modes can be selected on the multifunction lever: ""A"" or ""M"" * Automated clutch operation and gearshifting * Automatic torque control during clutch operation * Manual gear changes are also possible in automatic mode ""A"", operation is via the multifunction lever * 2-pedal system, with 3rd fold-out pedal Notes on use: The driver can fold out the clutch pedal at any time in order to operate the clutch. Clutch automation is then deactivated. When folded in, driving with automatic clutch operation considerably facilitates work. A = Automatic gear change: The transmission control system automatically effects gear shifts with reference to factors including engine speed, accelerator position, activation of the auxiliary brake, vehicle load and terrain (uphill/downhill gradient). Manual gear changes can also be effected while in automatic mode ""A"". M = Manual gear change Manual gear selection on the multifunction lever. The driver determines the gear, clutch operation is automated. Selected gear can therefore be maintained when driving uphill or downhill. When the clutch pedal is folded out the clutch will only operate manually via the pedal.
