為什麼耶穌這麼喜歡用比喻？因為我們對沒有見過、沒經驗過的事情，是沒有理解力的。
例如我們若沒有吃過雪糕，無論人們怎樣形容雪糕，我們也不能清楚知道是什麼東西。
天國就是這樣，無論耶穌怎樣說，我們也不可能知道。所以最好是說比喻。而比喻的好處是二千年前或現在，我們都可以通過對事物的理解，嘗試去明白耶穌所說的。
我們今天的理解，原來和二千年前是不同的，因為我們對那比喻的理解已經不同了。所以，有人認為，天國其實可以臨現人間的。
