not be used in electronic rooms (see also NFPA 75 and 76).Further, condensed aerosol generators can reach temperature in excess of 450°F during discharge. Such temperatures are obviously unsafe when crowded server racks and magnetic data tape discs are located in the immediate area. Condensed aerosol generators are prone to “flame ejection” and in some instances can be a source of secondary ignition when flammable materials are present. Finally, the particulate fire extinguishing agents produced by condensed aerosol generators are not clean agents. They leave a large amount of residue upon discharge that can be corrosive if not cleaned up promptly. The residue can easily damage or destroy computer equipment and hard drives, corrupt data and clog the ventilators of servers and other hardware in computer rooms and data storage areas.
