As to TB sensing, Spãtaru et al.firstly examined the electro-chemical behaviour and determination of xanthine and its naturallyoccurringN-methyl derivatives (theophylline, caffeine and TB) onBDDE. The electrochemical activity of TB was observed in supportingelectrolyte in the pH range from 2 up to 8 and the current response ofTB appeared to be linear within the concentration range of 1–400μMwith the achieved sensitivity of 0.045μA/μM. However, the real prac-tise analysis of food products containing TB was not provided by thismethod.
