Capcom and Bandai Namco have decided to continue their little romance with the Street Fighter and Tekken franchises into the new generation. The two heavyweight rivals of the fighting game scene have been doing a lot of sharing over the last few years, and the latest sees Street Fighter baddie Akuma enter the fray in Tekken 7.
At “The King of Iron Fist Tournament 2015,” Bandai Namco took to the stage to announce a brand new expansion to Tekken 7 entitled Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, and it stars classic villain Heihachi gone out of control. Only one man is strong enough and evil enough to bring a permanent end to the maniacal industrialist: Street Fighter’s Akuma.
I guess this little contract is why Akuma will not be among the first 16 fighters in Street Fighter V. I also forget so many times that Heihachi is a businessman first and a ruthless martial artist second. It’s so easy to forget that.
