root diameter were computed in order to throw the light on the relationship of effectual traits interest. Positive and highly significant (P ≤ 0.01) correlation coefficients were obtained between white sugar yield and each of root yield, root weight, root length and root diameter in both season, respectively. It was noted that white sugar yield showed the highest positive correlation with root yield followed by root weight, indicating their economic importance. Results in Table 4 show that root yield in both seasons was significantly (P ≤ 0.01)contributed to variations in white sugar yield.
