Creativity is a way of thinking and acting or making something that is original for the individual and valued by that person or others. Young children are naturally creative. This means they behave in ways and do things that are unique and valued by themselves or others. Creative in preschool children is stimulated when they are allowed to think divergently. Children want to express themselves openly. They want to bring out new ideas and have new experiences. They enjoy creativity and benefit from it in many ways. These including learning to feel good about themselves and seek many answers to a problem. Children benefit from creative as they experience the joy of being different for developing their individuality, potential to think and new skills. With older children, the focus of creativity is on the generation of original products or solutions. Teachers also benefit from encouraging creativity in such ways as being able to provide for more and greater variety in the program or develop closer relationships with children. Learning to recognize children for their unique skills. Having fewer behavior problems. Using a minimum of standardized curricula and external evaluation.
