I’ve been looking for a backpack to hold my asus G53 15.6′ notebook. Even tho the screen size is 15.6", its still huge. Almost as big as my old 17" Dell XPS m1710. So, I’ve come across the Targus CityGear backpacks as a top choice.

Does anyone know if the 15.4" targus citygear backpack will fit the laptop? (smaller listed screen size, but the 17" targus citygear backpack is too big for the average 17", so i’m wondering if it’ll be the same for the 15.4")

Otherwise does anyone know of any other really good backpacks I should look into? besides the targus XL and the wenger ibex and pegasus.

I will be starting college this fall, and am looking to purchase a new backpack. I own a North Face Recon pack, but it does not fit my 15.6" HP g6s laptop. I also do not like the sleeve style laptop section. I would prefer a dedicated zipper compartment for my laptop, because I do not want it to get scratched. (It is a purple color; scratches would be very visible.) I know I can’t stop normal wear and tear, but I do not want it scratched too badly. I need enough room in the pack to hold books and binders, and it would be nice to have a pocket for other accessories.

I have looked at the North Face Surge pack and liked it, but I was hoping to find a suggestion for another brand of pack specifically for laptops. I have looked at Targus. They have nice packs, but none are very stylish. I am a girl, and I would prefer a backpack that didn’t seem so masculine. Any suggestions?

I’m handicapped, and if I fall while walking I need to know that my laptop is okay. Your shield idea is awesome, but it won’t be much help when I slip and my things hit the pavement. I am having trouble finding a decent backpack or carying case for my 15.6" laptop, everything seems to be for a 15.4". I know the measurement is tiny difference, but I am not sure if the shape is different? I need help deciding which backpack is more suitable for me. I am going to be using the backpack for school.Im in college, and obviously, i will be carrying a laptop. I need good padding for my laptop, and lots of space for my books, and notebooks. I really like the simple look of the ebags, but from pictures it seems like the targus has alot more space. On a daily basis, i will probably carrying two textbooks, my laptop, and a usually a hardback novel. I also do like the color variety from the ebags backpack because i usually get out late from classes,studying, and working.
I am looking on ebags.com, if anyone is wondering. If there is a better site or better backpack you have in mind, i am open to suggestions.thank you

i have a targus bluetooth mouse and usually it will always automatically connect when i turn on my computer, but if i put it and my laptop in a backpack and go somewhere and take them out the mouse won’t connect and i can’t add it as a device from the bluetooth menu.
