The objective of this project is elaboration and validation of the ecohydrology approach (Zalewski et al., 1997) in urban water management. According to Zalewski (2006), implementation of the concept is based on the three fundamental tenets: using synergies between the catchment water cycle and dynamics of its biotic component; harmonizing existing and planned hydrotechnical solutions with ecological biotechnologies; and integrating complementary synergistic measures at all scales.
