Qualitative analysis of interactive speech sampleA checklist completed by each investigator for each child was used to qualitatively analyse the interactive speech samples. Table V depicts the percentage occurrence of characteristics from each of the three categories of CAS, CD and MSD-NOS among both groups of participants. More than 50% of the children with DS exhibited all characteristics of CAS except ‘‘reverses sounds in words or sentences’’. Interestingly, more TD than DS children reversed sounds in words and sentences.
