Similarly, for intercropped maize, the N1 treatment, with an average grain yield of 11.21 t ha−1, was boosted by 40%, 10%, and 13% over that of N0, N2, and N3, respectively; for sole maize, the N1 treatment, with an average grain yield of 8.78 t ha−1, was improved by 48%, 6% and 22% over that of N0, N2, and N3, respectively. The intercropping of pea and maize significantly enhanced the grain yield of both components.
