3.1.3.6 Study of rolling velocity influence on heat transfer
The experimental program used an identical spray configuration for five tests where the rotational
velocities of 10, 50, 100, 150 and 200 rpm were tested. These rotational velocities corresponded to
linear, circumferential velocities of 0.34, 1.7, 3.4, 5.1 and 6.8 m/s, respectively. The only variable
parameter was the rotational velocity (therefore, the circumferential velocity) of the roll. Tests were
done for three rows of flat jet nozzles, all of which were mounted at a spray height of 100 mm and
operated at 5 bar(g) water pressure.
