For Trusses 1 and 2 the chords were spliced together using an L shaped sleeve, fastened with clinches. For the remaining trusses longer lengths were obtained by butt-welding the two metre sections together. All the trusses were manufactured in-house, at the Architecture workshop at the University of Edinburgh.
