In summary, the paper presents and tests a conceptual model of service quality. The study identifies that the proposed hierarchical framework is appropriate. The paper also outlines the development of the Scale of Service Quality in Recreational Sport (SSQRS), which was based on a comprehensive description of possible facets of service quality. The results of confirmatory factor analyses indicate that SSQRS is psychometrically sound. Although the measures used in the study perform well in a particular industry segment (i.e..University Recreational Sport), further analysis of the items in different industry segments is necessary to establish reliability and validity of the scale. In addition,it is necessary to investigate the applicability of the conceptual framework in similar sport industry segments (e.g., fitness programs).
