Happy Friday, Lily Community! You made it. You earned it. Let the weekend vibes settle in. For our team, that means running all over the vast landscapes of California with plenty of beta Lily Cameras in tow. The snippet from last weekend linked above shows a take off from and land in hand.
One thing to note regarding this particular batch of betas -- the camera angle on this hardware version cuts out much of the horizon line. We want your Lily Camera to capture the full scope of your adventures, so we are fine-tuning that framing to give you a better view. The next iteration contains a few design changes that will optimize framing. We'll share demo footage with this improvement as soon as we can!
Meanwhile, our Manufacturing Team is still hard at work in our testing facility. While vibration testing measures turbulence endurance, the mechanical shock test shown above evaluates your Lily Camera's resilience against contact with hard surfaces or debris. The test rig generates a series of mechanical shocks in six different directions with a velocity of six meters per second and an acceleration magnitude of 30 grams. Once the unit proves it can survive in this environment, it's all systems go!
What you see above is not a bottomless vortex lifted from the pages of science fiction or a soundproof recording studio. It's where our Manufacturing Team conducts radio frequency testing. This test evaluates your Lily Camera's ability to properly communicate with your tracker, maintaining high-performance WiFi connection in a wide variety of ranges.
Signing off for now! It's time we hit the road for more testing. Stay tuned for beta footage next week.
