3.1.2. Measurement techniques
Two different measurement techniques were developed for the laboratory measurements. Brno
University of Technology used a transient technique, in which a hot test plate is cooled and internal
temperatures are measured. Inverse modelling was used for the computation of surface temperature,
heat transfer coefficient and heat flux distribution at the cooled surface. Most of the Brno experiments
were performed with a relative movement of the test sample and nozzles. A detailed description can
be found in the report “Experimental Study of Rolling Velocity Influence on Heat Transfer”,
paragraph Experimental procedure and data processing that was distributed within the annexe to
semester report number 3 [3].
