One of the distinguishing aspects of the forward flow governance structure is the
formalisation of the repair process through the implementation of PAS125 Kitemark
with car crash repair centres. The vehicle salvage operators are developing a PAS125
equivalent standard for removal and storage of reclaimed parts. The operation will be
codified and standardised to reduce the risk to the insurers and repairers. The new
industry standard will specify the salvage equipment, training, material handling
processes, quality procedures for recovered parts. The new specification will aid salvage
agents in standardising, controlling and monitoring their processes and equipment.
