Wennes joined Santander in July as president and CEO of the $83.5 billion-asset Santander Bank in Boston, after spending 11 years at MUFG Union Bank, where he oversaw commercial banking, real estate industries, consumer banking and wealth management. When his predecessor Scott Powell was recruited to be the chief operating officer of the embattled Wells Fargo earlier this month, Wennes became CEO of Santander's U.S. holding company, as well.
