Our research results indicated that interaction quality, environment quality, satisfaction, and inertia are all significant factors that directly or indirectly influence m-service consumers’ continuance intentions. However, we found that outcome quality does not have significant direct or indirect influences on the continuance intention. Consistent with the findings of prior studies, we found that interaction quality and environment quality have significant direct positive effects on satisfaction, which, in turn, had direct positive effects on inertia and continuance intention. These findings address the importance of incorporating service quality factors when evaluating the behaviors of m-service consumers. Nevertheless, contrary to our expectation, interaction quality and environment quality did not have a direct positive influence on inertia. A plausible explanation for this discrepant finding is the critical mediational role of satisfaction on the influences of interaction quality and environment quality on inertia, as we discussed previously. This implies that m-service providers ought to devote significant time and efforts into providing consumers with favorable interaction experiences in order to boost their level of satisfaction. Additionally, because more than 80% our respondents were aged less than 30 years old, they are more familiar with the new technologies and can easily search for information through various online media (e.g., online forums and social networking services) when encountering trouble regarding the use of their m-services. They thus care less about how well they interact with the personnel of their mservice providers when determining to continue to stick with their current m-services or not. Moreover, a majority of our survey respondents were frequent users of LINE (57.5%) and Facebook Messenger (35.3%), both of which are very popular and well-designed mobile communication apps. This indicates that most of the popular mobile communication apps may already have a high level of environment quality, and thus our respondents might not have paid attention to minor differences in factors related to environment quality when comparing their current and alternate mobile communication apps when determining whether to stay with their current mobile communication apps or not.
