therehave been no such results reported so far on the frequencyrecongurable dual-port antennas. It is a great advantage fordual-port antenna to applying a single RF switch to achievethe frequency tuning on the two antenna branches, becauseit saves both the cost and the complexity of antenna design.The big challenge to deal with is the frequency tuning of thetwo antenna elements to the same direction using the sameload impedances while keeping a good isolation betweentwo signal ports. Optimization of the antenna is done in away that PIFA element is wideband so that it covers thefrequency tuning ranges of the CCSL. The achieved isolationbetween the PIFA branch and the CCSL is below 12 dBand the measured envelope correlation coefcient (ECC) isbelow 0.16 across the operating frequency ranges.We presentcomparative analysis results including the parametric studieson the antenna properties of the proposed dual-port antenna,and the results are applied to fabricate a mock-up antenna toexploit the characteristics of the dual-port antenna throughmeasurements.
