The finishing stand is equipped with a mechnical screw-down system located in and /or on the top roll housings.The screwdown system consists of the following components:
screwdown spindles
screwdown nuts
drive units
thrust blocks and
unjamming devices
The vertically arranged screwdown spindles come with buttress threads in their lower parts and are screwed into screwdown nuts which are inserted in the top housing crosshead.
