I order her quietly out of bed and show her the bathroom and then the
table on which I have already placed bread, jam and milk. I keep the
instructions simple. Details will have to wait. She will make her bed,
eat breakfast and wash her plate and tidy up. Then she will shower and
put on her clothes. I point to the chair. If they don’t fit, I will
change them. I show her the clock. At nine o’clock exactly she must be
ready and standing next to her bed. I will come and inspect what she has
done and take her to the office for her ‘medical’ examination.
