Balanchine once said, “There are no new steps, only new combinations,” and this annual program invokes that precept by uniting ballets from three of today’s most acclaimed dance-makers and a choreographic legend. Christopher Wheeldon’s Polyphonia, a classic of contemporary ballet, is presented here with Justin Peck’s airy ensemble piece Bright, Jerome Robbins’ masterful Opus 19/The Dreamer, and an Alexei Ratmansky world premiere set to a score by experimental composer Peter Ablinger.
