Each SD station consists of a node box and a flat panel display. Consistent with the usage in
00000-ICE-30157, “Software Design Description for the Common Q Generic Flat-Panel Display
Software” (Reference 7), and 00000-ICE-3239, “Software Requirements Specification for the Common Q
Generic Flat Panel Display Software” (Reference 8), the node box and flat panel display are together
referred to as the Flat Panel Display System (FPDS). The FPDS is described in high-level detail within
WCAP-16097-P-A, “Common Qualified Platform Topical Report” (Reference 6). An SD-specific
flat panel display (FPD) application software package resides on the node box. Programs in the software
package generate and update the displays on the flat panel, process safety system data, and respond to
operator actions. Each SD node box is attached to the AP1000 PMS Advant® Fieldbus 100 (AF100)
network. There is one SD node box for each of the four safety system divisions. The identical software
