have you ever wondered why you look younger and prettier in some photos but older and uglier in others? it is all about the camera lens and your distance from the camera. lenses make the world look different than it does through your eyes. they bend light rays, capturing the scene within a centain field of view i a limited two-dimensional frame, also known as a photograph. if you are not standing in the focal point of the lens, the shape of the image will change more or less, affecting how faces and objects appear. check out the chart on the right and you will see that almost half of the interviewed people in the US think they look older in their photos than they do in real life. that could be something psychological or maybe they just never stand in the right spot.
