Lyric Analysis• ‘Every day every night’ – all the members are still determined to chase their treasure• ‘All of my life, I was searching, It looks like it can reach’ – they think they’re getting closer, but it’s all just an appearance. Hj has led them down the wrong path for this entire cb• ‘cloudy mirage,’ ‘Dreamer, The Sea of fear and joy’ – they’re going towards something that might be a mirage, dreaming that it’s the right path despite knowing that their ‘sea’ could be leading them astray.• ‘Following the blurry afterimage, one stroke each night, Sketch map drawn’ – still working hard to pursue what they see/think might be the right path despite its vagueness• ‘It looks like it looks like, In the clouds, Hidden treasure, Where we are not dreams’ – Are they pursuing these vague signs out of desperation?• ‘Go to the top’ – the top/the light seem to be safe areas/where the treasure is• ‘I wandered and I went to the sky’ – they’re flying in a boat in illusion. Is this a vision of their next journey?• ‘I'll wait till I see a dream at night’ – in illusion, a storm comes at night and they land somewhere that eventually leads them out. Could this be the same thing?• (hj) ‘A world without existence itself, I'll make it close to our life’ – is hj planning on leading the members through illusions/fake worlds to keep the members trapped?• ‘Even if everyone laughs because it's a dream, I cannot stop, the truth to me is that’ – they know they’ve passed the point of no return and won’t stop even if others are telling them it’s a dream/illusion. Ateez are becoming desperate to find their treasure at this point. IllusionHongjoong has led them to a new place where they’re mindlessly having fun instead of chasing their treasure, but by the end, they realize that they’re stuck in a dream world and have to find the way out. Their dark side/greed for the treasure from hh/smn is still inside of them, so the dark figure that leads them out of illusion into wave is a symbol of their greed, or in this context, their passion for the treasure, waking them up from their dream world and complacency. This shows that rather than defeating their dark side, the members actually have to learn to accept it and use it to find their treasure; how can you have the drive to achieve something if you don’t have the greed/desire forit? They need to balance their desire for the treasure without letting it ruin them.
