歌曲是人们生活的重要组成部分，青少年更是对歌曲偏爱有加。对正处于初中阶段的学生而言，初中英语因课时有限、节奏紧凑，因此大部分教师只注重知识的传授，而忽略了知识传授的过程，使得课堂氛围沉闷单调，学生的学习兴趣逐渐减弱。大量的单词背诵和枯燥的语法也使大多数学生束手无策，甚至开始放弃英语这门课程。近几年来，一些教育机构开始将英文歌曲运用到初中的英语口语教学中，并取得一定的效果。本文通过理论与实践相结合的形式，针对威宁县中水中学七年级的学生进行了一次研究，研究结果表明：将英文歌曲融入到英语口语教学活动中不仅能够提高学生的听、说、读、写能力，更能营造活跃的课堂气氛，激发学生的学习兴趣。
