In order to implement the precision feeding for dairy cow, an intelligent variable multi-concentrates feeding
machine was developed, which mainly consists of a feeding control center, a cow identification system, a
host and a device of the pen and entrance guard. The operating principle and the main structure of the
intelligent variable multi-concentrates feeding machine were introduced in this paper. The machine was
tested in the laboratory and in a dairy farm respectively. The results showed that the identifying accuracy of
the cow identification was 100%, the recognition time for identifying a cow identification was less than 0.5
s, the measurement error in the discharging mass of the concentrates was less than 5%, and the four kinds
of concentrates were mixed well. It is concluded that the feeding machine can be well satisfied with the
demands of the precision feeding.
