The results for Trusses 9 and 10 are presented in Fig. 23 and Fig. 24. The format of these trusses was different from the previous trusses as shown in Fig. 3b. The design was intended to improve the torsional behaviour of the trusses. The internal strut was replaced with pairs of C sections connected directly to the chords. The overall length was reduced to 3 m although the same nodal geometry was maintained. The bottom chord section was inverted to accommodate the alternative strut arrangement. Truss 9 used a 1.2 mm chord and 1.0 mm diagonal tie. During the test bending of the flanges of the bottom chords was observed and this made deflection measurements difficult to record.
