Stenden has 11,000 students worldwide - 10,000 of them in the Netherlands, and 1100 staff members. Together they perform more than 250,000 transactions per year. This is why the university has taken a critical look at financial transactions at Stenden. From 1 July you can no longer pay with your student card in the cafeterias and at Stenden IF. The credit available on your card after 1 July 2016 can be spent at the vending machines and for parking. Please note! This does not include your print credit.
Phase 1: Completed
For a month now, you have had to pay for printing and copying. To ease your inconvenience we have given you a €5,- print credit. Have you used your credit? You can add credit to your student card via print.stenden.com. From 11 April there are two wallets on your student card, one for printing and copying and one for paying at the cafeterias and the vending machines. This will change from 1 July!
Phase 2: Spend your money on time
In addition to your regular debit cards, your student card is yet another means to make payments. We want to simplify things. As of 1 July, payments at the cafeteria and Café IF can only be made with your own debit card, Visa, American Express or MasterCard. Please refer to the FAQs for an overview of the cards that are accepted.
From that point on, your student card can only be used to pay for parking, for purchases at vending machines and for printing and copying.
If you never park your car at Stenden, or never get something from the vending machines, you should use up your credit before 1 July, or plunder the vending machines with what's left of your credit after all.
Phase 3: At the end of 2017, payments at the vending machines and for parking will change.
When all changes are implemented, your student card is only a means of identification.
