The objective of this course is to help students to a)appreciate selected myths of the Greeks and Romans, b) be more observant and appreciative of the art around us, c) be versed in the Western cultures, d) be aware of the cultural differences, and c) be more creative through a wide range of activities including: reading, lecturing, storytelling, film watching, translating, visiting, role-play, and in-class discussions. To achieve the desired goals, students are required to do assigned reading and related research before class and actively participate in classThe instructor will assign reading material before each class, and students are required to come to class prepared. The instructor will give lectures on important topics regarding the Greek and Roman mythology, as well as assign reading material before class. In class, students are required to participate in discussions, make presentations, either individually or in small groups, based on their reading material and research.
