Before an employee is allowed to work, the employer is required to carry out compulsory initial training in occupational health and safety that includes general and occupational on-the-job training. In addition, he is obliged to conduct periodic trainings during the employment, with a frequency that depends on the type and conditions of the workplace. The purpose of these trainings is to provide employees with the necessary knowledge to perform their work while taking into account safety rules and regulations.Analysis of post accident protocols showed that carrying out initial trainings, before admitting an employee to work, is not a rule in many construction companies. Figure 5 shows the percentage share of people injured in occupational accidents in relation to any conducted general and initial trainings.
