Pan-pacific Air Market is a global player in the air freight industry. Since its incorporation in 1987, it has grown from a medium size air-freight forwarder into a full-fledged freight forwarder offering full intermodal transportation services for inbound and outbound cargo. Today, Air Market's services goes well beyond the boundaries of South East Asia to the rest of the world.
As a medium size enterprise, Air Market recognised the importance of investments in processes, systems and human capital. This allows them to strive for operational process excellence and a management system that ensures consistency in their services.
Our CEO explains, "Our strength as a company not only lies to the facilities we maintain, but in the hard work and ingenuity of our workforce as well. All the hardware in the world will be negligible, if the users behind it do not know how to optimally deploy them. We believe that investments in capital and technology have to be made in order to effectively compete in a globalised market."
He adds, "We constantly seek to increase the scope of service and capabilities, with the aim of providing a one-stop inland logistics services to our customers". Initially providing only air freight forwarding services, the enterprising company has leveraged on the Logistics Capability Development Programme (Logistics CDP) offered by SPRING Singapore to develop their warehousing capabilities and reposition itself into a regional distribution hub.
"Since applying on to the LCDP scheme, we started with only a miserable 17000 sq.ft warehouse in October 2006. But today we are proud to present to our base of 600 customers that Air Market has its own logistics centre, located at No.22, Loyang Lane, which has 120,000 sq.ft of gross floor area."
Air Market has developed their warehouse management system which allows real-time control and management of their inventories. This capability is deemed crucial to manage a regional distribution centre with potentially high turn around inventory. In addition, they also provide value added services for their clients, including consolidation, re-packing, re-labelling and quality control.
Reliability of its services is also a primary concern for Air Market. In order to build a greater trust for its logistics services quality, Air Market is also certified in ISO 9001 in early 2003. With this constant vision to provide a high class customer service to their clients, Air Market is thus able to expand its existing pool of MNC customers.
Using a three-way approach of sales, customer service, and operations as foundation that allows it to operate globally, Air Market's move into the international stage is also due to the strategic partnerships established with players of calibre in the airline industry. This has made them the top agent for EVA Airways, Air Mauritius, Thai Airways, Asiana Airline, Gulf Air, and Saudi Arabian Airlines.
They have maintained their specialist status in the air freight industry and are appointed by freight forwarders and shippers to handle the inbound or outbound shipments to and fro in the airfreight terminals. They manage warehouses at the Changi Airfreight Centre Free Trade Zone (FTZ) and provide one-stop logistics solutions for their clients for 24/7.
