The study indicates a significant reduction in thenumber of home environmental risk factors for fallsafter an educational intervention. Several homeenvironmental risk factors for falls were modified afterthe educational intervention. Assessment of homeenvironment hazards, in addition to educationalintervention, can be a key component of fallprevention programs for the elderly living in homeenvironments. This study demonstrates that homeenvironmental risk factors for falls can be reduced bya well-prepared educational intervention.
