The results indicate that rutin has not showed any antioxidant capacity. Other studies in 50% (v/v) aqueous methanol, have reported a ratio VCE/rutin of 0.9–1.0 (Heo et al., 2007 and Kim et al., 2002). In this study the solution was not acidified and therefore the pH was higher than the pH in the R juices (3.7). Other authors have reported that the maximum antioxidant capacity for rutin due to the deprotonation, was observed at pH 7.0 (Gomathi et al., 2003 and Ignjatovic et al., 2002).
