Karma Credit referred me to Avant. I was hesitant as I had old medical bills out there, etc. I am on Social Security due to disability and I need to get my car either repaired or find a replacement fast. I've worked at a bank many years ago, so I kind of knew how things would go. I was expecting to be denied given all those parameters. I wasn't. Yes, the percentage is high, but I'd always told my clients (at the bank way back when) that the payments are fixed and if there aren't any prepayment penalties (and Avant said no there weren't) then take it. You can always pay down the loan, or completely off, any time you want. This is good as no one knows what will happen in the future (think 2008 with a mortgage payment on a balloon ARM and you'll see how bad things can get fast). It was for those reasons, plus their lending history, and their friendly staff that swayed me to try it out.
