Types of studiesAll randomised controlled trials including quasi‐randomised trials and cluster‐randomised trials. Cross‐over trials were not eligible for inclusion.Types of participantsHealthy full‐term newborns whose mothers have initiated breastfeeding and intend to exclusively breastfeed regardless of whether they were born at home or in hospital. We planned to exclude studies including newborns exposed to bottle feeding prior to enrolment.
