The significant wave heights obtained from the standard meteorological data are calculated by the spectral method.
Besides, the wave peak periods are given by the corresponding energy peaks from the energy spectrum
for the same wave acquisition duration. However, some data may still be missing for a span of
acquisition duration due to maintenance or failure or destruction by extreme weather conditions.
Therefore, in some cases, there are continuous zero readings in the log files, which are ignored in the
following calculations. Table 1 shows the availability of the standard meteorological data and the
corresponding buoy locations.
