薰衣草森林，起源於2001年11月，是一處綜合香草餐飲、香草生活周邊商品及香草應用的園地。薰衣草森林的創業傳奇，是來自於兩個女生- 詹慧君與林庭妃- 的紫色夢想。原本兩人都有各自穩定的工作，但因為有著薰衣草及咖啡夢，所以勇敢的挑戰新的領域。在草創初期，連店名都還沒想出來時，兩個人召集親朋好友幫忙出主意，“山居歲月”、“山水人家”、“眠夢森林”等，都無法取得大家的共識，後來庭妃認為既然有森林也有薰衣草田，那就取名“薰衣草森林” 吧，希望有一天薰衣草可以開滿山野，有如一座紫色浪漫的森林。
