Tournament Rules
The Dubai International Cup 2016 will be a ‘Round Robin’ tournament consisting of two games for each team in a league table format. The winner of the tournament will be determined by the team that accumulates the most point across their two fixtures.
The following points system shall apply for the tournament:
3 points for a win / 1 point for a draw / 1 point for a penalty shootout win / 0 points for a defeat
If the game is a draw after 90 minutes, the game will be decided by a penalty shootout. The winner of the penalty shootout will win 1 extra point.
If two or more teams finish equal on points, the following criteria shall apply to determine their rankings:
Better goal difference
Greater number of goals scored
Fewest goals conceded
Highest number of points obtained in the matches played among the teams in questions
If all of the above is the same, ranking will be determined by toss of a coin.
