Digital images of the paddle and paddler at 50 Hzwere synchronized with paddle force data for strokeanalysis by counting strokes from paddle entry andcorrelating the resulting paddle angle–time andforce–time curves. Siliconcoach Digitiser 6 (Siliconcoach, Dunedin, New Zealand) was used to digitizethe video images of the paddler markers at theshoulder, elbow, and wrist of the outside arm andtrunk (thorax) segments, paddle markers (top andbottom of the paddle shaft), boat markers (two boatmarkers within view), and an external reference point(lane buoy if in view).
